what's not to love about a party.

what's not to love about a party with a theme and happy guests who show up bottles in hand, ready to play, ready to watch the ladies in their gowns and the men in their tuxes

what's not to love about a party where Ellen walked the aisles making me laugh so hard I forgot to give the answers to my contests

what's not to love about those chandeliers Ben hand-painted the last one groovy blue, red, gold, looks like something out of Bulgaria Flora said and she's right. Tuberoses made the guest room smell lush and forbidden as if something interesting might happen to that pile of coats and purses while we sat munching on our guacamole, homemade salsa, enchilada tortas

what's not to love about a party except that even the best ones End, prizes given, one last sip of champagne, couple more chips perhaps, hand me a girl scout cookie that's so retro no it's all I had in the cupboards I always forget about dessert.

even the best ones End, the house is quiet, ben and I walk slowly up the stairs to bed, lucy following her belly full of stolen bites she loves parties as much as we do, I believe. what's not to love.
